YAMAHA’S INNOVATIVE CONFERENCE SYSTEM WINS INAVATIVE AWARD

21.02.2008

Yamaha is proud to announce that its groundbreaking PJP-50R IP audio conferencing system has won its first award, at the prestigious 2008 EMEA+ InAVation Awards.

Held in the Netherlands during the annual Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show, the InAVation Awards recognises the development and use of innovative technology throughout the professional audio visual industry.

Fusing stunning visual appeal and cutting-edge audio technology, the PJP-50R scores highly on both fronts, virtues which were recognised by it winning the award for Most InAVative Audio Product for Commercial Use (Non Loudspeaker).

The unique disc-shaped PJP-50R is a multi-interface voice conferencing system that provides extremely high quality audio. Integrating sixteen microphones, four small-diameter speakers, a communication controller and an audio mixer into a single, easy-to-use IP phone conferencing system, the unit’s high performance adaptive echo cancellation prevents echoes, cut-offs and drops in volume when participants are speaking.

In addition to SIP-enabled VoIP communication, the PJP-50R can communicate via analogue phone lines, while it also features audio inputs and outputs for use as an audio terminal in PC-based web or video conferencing systems.

“We are extremely pleased at winning the InAVation award for the PJP-50R, because they are voted for by people who actually use the equipment on a day-to-day basis,” says Yamaha Commercial Audio general manager Nick Cook.

“As such, the awards reflect the actual impact that products have on the market.”

He continues: “When we developed our latest voice conferencing systems, we felt that we had come up with products that are in a class of their own. So it’s very gratifying for the PJP-50R’s qualities to be recognised in this way so soon after it was introduced.”
